The Appalachian Trail
There are not many people, living or dead,
who have walked the full length of the
Appalachian Trail. Ethan Loewenthal did it
in 1999 and joined a select group of individuals--
the thru-hikers. In this chapter he tells about
his experience with the words of a poet. The
Appalachian Trail winds through 14 states from
Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in
Maine. Can you handle it? If so, you need this
information. Or you can just read about it from
the comfort of your armchair.
